Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Mcneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Kingston has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sam Mcneil's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Mcneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Chris Dean and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingston stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kingston wants it to stay on the feet.

Kingston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcneil looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Kingston goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mcneil has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kingston but great work by Mcneil.
Kingston tries to bench press Mcneil off him but Mcneil keeps the position.

Mcneil tries for a kimura but Kingston is defending well.
Kingston is trying to control Mcneil's posture but Mcneil avoids it.
Mcneil working the ground and pound but Kingston is defending the strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kingston manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kingston moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kingston has Mcneil pulled in close to control his posture.
Mcneil loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mcneil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mcneil lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kingston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kingston wants to get back to his feet but Mcneil is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mcneil is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kingston utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mcneil has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sam Kingston has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mcneil swats away the attempt to clinch by Kingston.

Kingston throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcneil tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kingston is in Mcneil's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mcneil looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kingston looking to sit in guard and control but Mcneil gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mcneil will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kingston tries to strike from the bottom.
Mcneil really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mcneil throws a strike but Kingston rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Mcneil scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.

Mcneil has his foot on Kingston's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kingston works his way back into a safe position though.

Kingston not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sam Mcneil just wasn't active enough.

Kingston shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcneil's guard.

Mcneil will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Oooooh!!! Kingston has knocked Mcneil down with a huge combo! Kingston steps away and waves a wobbly Mcneil back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Mcneil is rocked!


It looks like Sam Mcneil has been cut.

Kingston drives through and clinches with Mcneil against the cage.
Oh Mcneil is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kingston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sam Kingston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kingston closes the distance and clinches.
Kingston is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Kingston has picked Mcneil up - he's going for a ride! Kingston dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mcneil is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kingston not doing much here.
Kingston is breathing heavily.
Kingston is thwarting Mcneil's attempts to control the position.
Mcneil won't allow Kingston to pass to mount.

Kingston jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mcneil is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mcneil and Kingston has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Kingston swings around for an armbar but Mcneil sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kingston's guard.

Kingston is looking to stand up but Mcneil isn't so interested in that idea.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mcneil postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mcneil is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kingston has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcneil is working away from the top position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mcneil throws a strike but Kingston avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Kingston manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Sam Mcneil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sam Kingston is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kingston manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Sam Mcneil showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kingston has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
