Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Omeruo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omeruo has chosen The Hunger Games Whistle as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, The Can!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenneth Omeruo!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omeruo throws a nice looking combination but Can bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Can misses with a jab, cross combination.
Can throws a looping overhand right but Omeruo ducks down to avoid it.
Omeruo throws a sloppy head kick and Can moves out of range easily.
Can has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Can keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Omeruo needs to keep his hands up - Can had a free shot at his head there.
Can on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Omeruo. Omeruo obviously looking to wear him down.
Omeruo tries a low kick but Can avoids it.
Omeruo tries a head kick but it misses.
Can throws a series of punches but Omeruo avoids them all with ease.
Can connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Omeruo's hands.
Omeruo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Omeruo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Omeruo tries to work over Can's front leg with a kick but Can checks it.
Can lands a jab to Omeruo's midsection.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Can misses with a hook. Omeruo ducked under it nicely.
Can throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Omeruo throws a sloppy head kick and Can moves out of range easily.
Omeruo scores with a leg kick.
Omeruo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Can misses with the combination.
Can throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Omeruo lands a leg kick that knocks Can off balance momentarily.
Can takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like The Can has been cut.
Can scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Can tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Omeruo was well out of range. Poor timing from Can.
Can lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Omeruo - that will leave a mark!
The Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Omeruo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Omeruo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Can.
A telegraphed right hand from Can misses the target.
Omeruo throws a head kick but Can moves out of range.
Omeruo walks into a left hand.
Can scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Omeruo doesn't seem bothered though.
Can digs a good hook to Omeruo's body.
Omeruo tries a head kick but it misses.
Omeruo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Can.
Can's corner calls for a 1-2. Can obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Omeruo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Can. That did some damage!
Can fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Can misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Omeruo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Can throws out a loose jab but Omeruo uses good head movement to avoid it.
A big left from Can misses.
Omeruo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


Omeruo is rocked!
A cross from Can lands.
Omeruo is still on wobbly legs! Can Can finish him?
BOOM! Can lands a beautiful left hook that drops Omeruo. Omeruo tries to recover but Can is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Omeruo lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Can!
The Can retains his lightweight title!
A very excited looking The Can made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
