Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Jerks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Smith!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jerks circles away.

Jerks fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Jerks persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jerks is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smith sees it coming and defends easily.
Smith tries to roll over but Jerks keeps him under control.
Smith looks winded!

Jerks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jerks.
Smith works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Smith looking to control but Jerks passes into half guard.

Jerks is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jerks is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jerks to get the leverage.

Jerks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Jerks eventually gives up the hold.

Jerks wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.

Jerks is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Smith is looking to improve his position.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Jerks is controlling him well.

Jerks is nestled in close to Smith, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jerks is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Smith has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jerks with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Jerks passes to side control.
Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Jerks is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jerks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jerks fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Smith stops Jerks from passing to mount.

You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith is not content to let Jerks control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Jerks dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jerks drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jerks sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard.

Jerks is trying to work for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Jerks is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!
Jerks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jerks working for a submission but Smith is keeping him at bay.
Smith tries to hold on but Jerks pushes him away.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Smith bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Smith stops Jerks from standing up.
Smith wants to stand but Jerks is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jerks keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
Jerks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jerks controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.

Jerks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jerks has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but Jerks has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! Jerks pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mark Jerks!
