Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Landon Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Gsp!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gsp doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rojas counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gsp misses with the combination.
Gsp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rojas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rojas walks into a stiff left hand from Gsp.
It looks like Landon Rojas has been cut.
Gsp misses with a double jab
and Rojas counters with a head kick.
Gsp gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gsp is looking to advance position but Rojas won't allow it.
Gsp throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rojas regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Gsp.
Gsp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gsp working some strikes from top position.
Gsp trying to control but Rojas is working from the bottom.
Rojas will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Gsp throwing strikes but missing.
Gsp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rojas trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rojas really is a fat lump.
Gsp is looking to work some ground and pound but Rojas has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rojas thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Gsp content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gsp with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rojas throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Rojas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gsp is controlling him.
Gsp cracks Rojas with a solid left hand.
Landon Rojas's cut is getting worse.
Gsp throws a big elbow that misses.
Rojas is breathing heavily.
Gsp stands up over Rojas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Landon Rojas's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Landon Rojas's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Greg Gsp!
