The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nkosi moves to clinch but Montoya breaks away
and Montoya counters with a body kick that stops Nkosi in his tracks momentarily.
Nkosi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Montoya counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Nkosi drives through with a takedown into Montoya's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Montoya looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nkosi passes into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Montoya manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Montoya really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nkosi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Montoya looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Montoya looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Montoya!

Nkosi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Montoya asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Nkosi is looking for a sweep.
Montoya is looking to take a break and control but Nkosi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nkosi tries to buck Montoya off but Montoya is having none of it.

Nkosi wants to get back to his feet but Montoya is dominant here and he's now got Nkosi's back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Montoya has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Nkosi has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Montoya wants to control but Nkosi is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Montoya is looking for the choke from the back position but Nkosi is controlling his hands well.
Nkosi tries to escape but Montoya has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Nkosi tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Montoya has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Nkosi is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
