Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shirley Spears (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Shirley Spears!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence throws a series of punches but Spears moves out of range.
Spears will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Spears sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Spears pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lawrence is out of range and Spears settles back down.
Spears stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spears wants it to stay on the feet.
Spears shoots in for a takedown but Lawrence shows good takedown defense.
Spears blocks a head kick by Lawrence.
Justin Lawrence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawrence throws a wild body kick that Spears sees coming a mile off.
Lawrence slips a jab from Spears.
Spears takes a kick to the side of the head.

Spears is rocked!
Spears walks straight into a right hand from Lawrence - that's dropped him! Lawrence jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Spears from any more punishment! Spears complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
