PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igosh Tammih (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Igosh Tammih!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tammih thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bennett lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Tammih moves out of range as Bennett strikes.
Tammih definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tammih dives in for a single leg takedown but Bennett sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tammih jumps guard but Bennett turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Tammih tries a knee to the head but Bennett blocks it.
Bennett wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tammih has him pressed against the cage.
Tammih looking to slow down the pace here.
Bennett tries to circle away but Tammih has him pinned against the cage.
Bennett has had enough of the clinch but Tammih keeps him there for the moment.

Tammih breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tammih shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bennett defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igosh Tammih. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tammih fails with a takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bennett loads up on a big right hand but Tammih slips the punch.
Bennett looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tammih closes the distance but Bennett moves to the side
enabling Bennett to counter with a crisp jab.

Tammih manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bennett on his heels. He'll look to pass Bennett's guard now, I'm sure.
Tammih missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Tammih trying to control the position from guard on top but Bennett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tammih gets to his feet. Bennett looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Tammih uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bennett.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tammih throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bennett's waist but Bennett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tammih off to one side.
A punch lands to the side of Tammih 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Tammih throws a hook but Bennett blocks it.
Tammih shoots in looking for a takedown but Bennett manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tammih's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bennett thuds a left hand into Tammih's body.
A swing and a miss from Bennett.
Bennett swats away the attempt to clinch by Tammih.
Tammih pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Robert Bennett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tammih bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bennett lands with an uppercut that bounces Tammih off the cage and back into range.
Bennett throws a hook but Tammih avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tammih looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tammih displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bennett throws out the jab.
Bennett misses with a left hand

and Tammih holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Tammih throws an elbow but it misses.
Tammih scores with a shoulder strike.
Tammih is looking to control Bennett's arms but Bennett gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tammih has his back to the cage.
Bennett tries to circle away but Tammih has him pinned against the cage.
Tammih has Bennett pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bennett manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Tammih breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bennett throws a shot from downtown. Tammih moves away and avoids it.
Bennett lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tammih at a distance.
Tammih shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Tammih walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bennett lands a really nice looking cross but Tammih seems unphased.


Tammih is rocked!
Bennett throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tammih counters with a body kick.
Bennett might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Tammih darts in trying to clinch
and Bennett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oh Tammih is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bennett misses with a left hand
and Tammih connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bennett throws a lazy right hand but Tammih sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tammih wants to clinch
and Bennett counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Robert Bennett!
A relieved looking Robert Bennett thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
