PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Hester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gigi Sirovica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirovica has chosen last mohacian as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirovica avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hester shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sirovica as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Hester or perhaps it was just good defense by Sirovica which made him look bad.
Hester wants to clinch up but Sirovica keeps it at a distance.

Hester moves in looking to clinch but Sirovica pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hester digs a right hand underneath Sirovica's ribcage. Sirovica let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Sirovica is trying to drag Hester to the mat but Hester just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Sirovica has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hester avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hester has Sirovica pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hester pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sirovica tumbling to the mat - Hester dives into Sirovica's guard.

Sirovica has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hester can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hester stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sirovica swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hester tries to stand but Sirovica is controlling from the bottom.

Sirovica tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

and Sirovica counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hester wants to clinch.
Hester closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sirovica counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hester is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Hester has clasped his hands together around Sirovica's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sirovica manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Sirovica is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sirovica seems to be working for a kimura but Hester defends the submission attempt.

and Sirovica counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hester's guard now.

Sirovica drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hester dives on top into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sirovica has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hester should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sirovica has tightened it up now! Hester should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
