Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Connor Keane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrious Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Connor Keane !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demetrious Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets a clinch.
Keane is looking to take this one to the mat.
Johnson looking to slow down the pace here.
Johnson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Keane prevents it.

Keane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Keane , looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Keane against the cage but Keane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Keane misses the shot to the body.

and Keane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Connor Keane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demetrious Johnson.

and Keane counters with a nice leg kick.

Johnson shoots in and drives through. Keane sprawls well.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Keane tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson looks for a takedown but Keane sprawls well.

Johnson moves into the clinch.

Keane decides to pull guard.

Keane is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Johnson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Keane has hold of one of Johnson's legs. Johnson is fighting the takedown attempt but Keane gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Keane slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson pulls Keane in to control the position.
Keane wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

Keane not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Connor Keane .
Keane displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
Johnson looks winded!
Keane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Johnson forces Keane back against the cage and clinches.

Keane has clasped his hands together around Johnson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Keane . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Keane is controlling him well.

Keane thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Keane tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head.

Keane looks up at the clock and then as Johnson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Keane smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Keane remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Johnson tries to buck Keane off but Keane is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Keane 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Keane swivels and escapes.

and Keane counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Keane .

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Keane stops Johnson from standing up.
Keane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Keane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Keane is stalling in the full guard.
Johnson has a closed guard, preventing Keane from standing up.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Keane . Keane gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson is looking to clinch.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Keane swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch.
Keane is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but Keane turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Johnson tries to pull guard but Keane won't allow it.

Keane wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Keane jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Keane around his waist. Keane gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Keane blocks the elbow strike.
Keane blocks an uppercut.
Johnson jumps guard but Keane turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Johnson tries to score a body lock takedown but Keane shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Keane jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Johnson is looking to pass into half guard but Keane pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Keane is in guard.

Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Keane slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Keane decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Keane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Keane is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Johnson strikes from the bottom but Keane uses the opportunity to move to side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Keane asserts his dominance and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Keane drives through with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Keane controlling him for the moment.
Keane content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Keane seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Keane looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Johnson wants to control but Keane is keeping busy.

Keane throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Keane is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Johnson tries to roll over but Keane keeps him under control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Keane works his way into full mount!
Johnson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Keane working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Johnson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Keane off and cradles Johnson's limp body as Keane celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Connor Keane !
