The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left Right misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dawson tries to clinch but Left Right moves out of range.
Dawson goes for a double leg but Left Right avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Left Right continues to drive forward.

Dawson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dawson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Left Right, pushing him back against the cage.

Dawson tries to pull guard but Left Right forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Left Right's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Dawson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Left Right smiles and moves away.
Roland Dawson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dawson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Left Right kicks Dawson off and gets back to his feet.
Dawson misses with a straight left.
Left Right takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Dawson connects with a nice looking jab.

Dawson goes for a double leg but Left Right avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Left Right continues to drive forward.

Left Right is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dawson can't fight it off and eventually Left Right manages to take the fight to the floor. Dawson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dawson is pulling down on Left Right's head. It's preventing any offense from Left Right, at least for the moment.
Dawson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Left Right is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dawson won't let Left Right get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Dawson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Left Right's face.
Left Right wants to control but Dawson is having none of it.
Left Right tries to improve his position but instead Dawson has taken his back!
