Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Guerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordan Burroughs!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerra looks to clinch

and Burroughs counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Guerra!

Burroughs stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

We've been hearing good reports from Guerra's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Guerra moves forwards but Burroughs connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Guerra wants to clinch
and Burroughs counters with a stiff right hand.
We've been informed that Burroughs has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Sloppy strikes from Guerra. Those never looked like landing.

Burroughs shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Guerra is trying to defend but Burroughs finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Burroughs is taking a breather. Guerra says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Oh Guerra is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Burroughs gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Burroughs holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Burroughs feints and as Guerra raises his hands in defense, Burroughs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Guerra can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Burroughs controls the pace.
Burroughs's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Guerra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burroughs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
