Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wojciech Durlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wojciech Durlak has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Best!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wojciech Durlak!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Best dives in and scores a takedown into Durlak's guard.
Best showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Best has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Best won't allow Durlak to sweep him here.
Best is pushing down on Durlak's leg trying to pass to half guard. Durlak is fighting to maintain full guard but Best has managed to sneak the leg through.
Best frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Best takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Best looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Best tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Best is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Durlak can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Best has hold of Durlak's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Durlak manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Best controlling the pace for now.

Best working for a guillotine from mount but Durlak is in no mood to give up.
Best controlling his opponent.

Best has hold of Durlak's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Durlak manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Best's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Durlak is trying to control Best's posture but Best avoids it.

Best tries for a kimura but Durlak is defending well.
Best controlling from side mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Durlak wants to get back to his feet.
Best moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Durlak is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Best tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Best has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Best controls the position.
Best seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Durlak for as long as he can get away with.
Durlak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Best. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Best tries for a kimura but Durlak is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Best remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Best fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Durlak to the ground. Best is now in Durlak's guard.
Best controlling from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Best wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Best pushes Durlak up against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Best has Durlak pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Best pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Durlak tumbling to the mat - Best dives into Durlak's guard.
Durlak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Best drops back, looking for a kneebar! Durlak looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Durlak looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Durlak!
Best is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Durlak swings around for an armbar but Best sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Durlak's guard.
Best wants to pass the guard but Durlak is keeping the position.
Durlak is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Durlak has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Best has passed into side control.
Best advances nicely into full mount.
Best looking to control and managing it successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Best working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Durlak is in all sorts of trouble here.
Durlak has given up his back.

Best is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Durlak taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Best.
