Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reuben Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Talbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sam Talbert was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reuben Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Talbert!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox scores with a leg kick.
Talbert throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Talbert takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Cox tries to clinch there but Talbert circles away.
Cox slips under a jab.
Talbert throws a jab when Cox was well out of range.
Talbert thows a left - swing and a miss!
Cox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cox lets loose with a powerful body kick. Talbert will feel that in the morning.
Reuben Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cox throws a head kick that Talbert semi-blocks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cox showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Talbert.
Cox paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Cox will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A swing and a miss from Talbert.
Cox dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Talbert. That did some damage!
Talbert misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cox lands a head kick that stumbles Talbert and the fighters go to the mat.


Talbert is rocked!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Talbert can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cox drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cox jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Talbert is still in real trouble! Can Cox finish him?
Cox passes into half guard.

Cox seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Talbert is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Reuben Cox!
Reuben Cox seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
