Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abdullah Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geeves Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slice comes into the arena with Last Resort-Papa Roach blaring out of the sound system. Armstrong comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kickstart My Heart kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Geeves Armstrong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Slice's calf.
Armstrong throws a nice outside leg kick.
Slice throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Armstrong sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Armstrong.
Slice misses with a looping right.
Slice takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

and Slice decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Armstrong's guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Slice's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Slice is looking to work some ground and pound but Armstrong has wrist control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Geeves Armstrong was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Armstrong throws a low kick, looking for Slice's leg but Slice calmly moves out of range.
Slice scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Slice wants to work for an arm triangle but Armstrong is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Slice throws an elbow that misses. Armstrong uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Slice's guard. Nice move by Armstrong!
Armstrong wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We're going to have a standup here because Abdullah Slice wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Armstrong fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Slice looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Slice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Armstrong tries to avoid it but Slice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Armstrong to the ground. Armstrong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Slice is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

In his post fight interview, Abdullah Slice started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
