Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antero Kannas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nonfu Lakalaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nonfu Lakalaka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Antero Kannas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nonfu Lakalaka!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lakalaka enables Kannas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lakalaka manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kannas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Lakalaka has momentary wrist control but Kannas slips an elbow through the middle.

Kannas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lakalaka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lakalaka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lakalaka has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kannas is proving hard to escape from.

Kannas is looking for a sweep. Lakalaka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kannas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lakalaka wants to stand but Kannas is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kannas wants to hit a switch here but Lakalaka passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kannas there!

Lakalaka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kannas here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Lakalaka moves out of range as Kannas strikes.
Lakalaka doesn't manage to clinch there - Kannas circles away.

and Lakalaka counters with a stiff right hand.
Kannas lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Lakalaka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kannas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kannas swats away the attempt to clinch by Lakalaka.
Kannas throws a hook but Lakalaka blocks it.
Kannas shoots in looking for a takedown but Lakalaka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kannas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kannas has gone for a leg lock! Lakalaka slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kannas's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kannas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lakalaka defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lakalaka changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kannas has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lakalaka.

Kannas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lakalaka manages to avoid it.

Nonfu Lakalaka seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kannas is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Lakalaka's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Lakalaka gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kannas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lakalaka can't keep his opponent in guard - Kannas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Nonfu Lakalaka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kannas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
