The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kane sprawls well. Kane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hicks gets slowly back to his feet.
Hicks takes one to the side of the head.
Hicks looks to throw a body kick
letting Kane counter with a right hand.
Hicks shoots in looking for a takedown but Kane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hicks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hicks looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kane slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kane bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kane pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Hicks gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kane is trying to get back to his feet.
Hicks throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hicks slows the pace down.
Hicks in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hicks trying to control the position but Kane is working away.

Hicks is working to tighten his grip on Kane's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kane has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hicks is really squeezing tight and eventually Kane passes out! Hicks breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
