The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baert checks a low kick from Malone.
Malone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baert swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice defenses there by Malone.
Baert fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Malone manages to avoid it.
Malone tries to clinch but Baert moves away
and Malone takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Malone moves out of range as Baert strikes.
Baert keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Malone lands with a kick to the temple. Baert shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Malone gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Baert lands with a straight right. Malone didn't see that one coming.

Baert throws a series of strikes that have Malone backpedaling.
Baert is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

A looping hook to the body misses from Baert. Malone does a little dance to reset his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Malone.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malone moves into the clinch.
Malone prevents Baert from breaking the clinch.
Malone keeps control of Baert as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lodewijk Baert dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Baert lands with an uppercut that bounces Malone off the cage and back into range.
Baert jabs Malone to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Malone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Baert here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Malone connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Baert momentarily.

Malone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Baert stalks Malone and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Malone's face. Malone staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Frankie Malone has been cut.
Baert connects with a right hand. Malone shakes it off.
Baert connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Malone momentarily.

Baert cracks a nice hook into Malone's ribs.
A punch lands to the side of Malone 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Malone is breathing heavily.
Baert lands a nice looking body kick.
Baert lands a nice hook to Malone's body. Malone takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Malone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baert as he avoids it easily.

Baert feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Malone sprawling to the canvas! Malone rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Baert finish him?!
Malone is still on wobbly legs! Can Baert finish him?
Baert is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Malone can do to turn this around?
Malone looks up at the clock. Bad move! Baert lands a right hand from hell, dropping Malone. Baert pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

In his post fight interview, Lodewijk Baert started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
