The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kano scores with a body shot.

Griffen gets tackled into the cage by Kano. Kano maintains the clinch.
Kano stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Griffen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kano prevents it.
Griffen is trying to pull guard but Kano has him pressed against the cage.
Kano content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kano lands a left hand.

Jigoro Kano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Forrest Griffen.

Griffen tries to score a body lock takedown but Kano shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kano is leaning against Griffen and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Griffen is trying to drag Kano to the mat but Kano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kano unloads a knee to the mid-section. Griffen lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Kano lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Kano gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Griffen is trying to break free.

Griffen is trying to break the clinch but Kano has him pressed against the cage.

Kano is pressed up against the cage. Griffen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kano down to the mat. Kano avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jigoro Kano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kano stuns Griffen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Griffen misses with a series of wild punches.
Kano paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Kano stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Griffen displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

It looks like Jigoro Kano has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Griffen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kano just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kano lands a right hand that snaps the head of Griffen backwards.
Griffen is looking to control Kano's arms but Kano gets an underhook and turns him. Now Griffen has his back to the cage.

Kano's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Griffen.
Griffen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kano scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Griffen doesn't seem bothered though.

Kano cracks Griffen with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Griffen looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kano finish him?

Griffen is rocked!

It looks like Forrest Griffen has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffen get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Griffen stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Kano runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
