The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden doesn't manage to clinch there - Northram circles away.

Northram gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Durden stands and throws Northram's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Northram tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Durden remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Durden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Durden is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Northram is trying to escape and Durden transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Northram is forced to tap! Nice work there by Durden! Very nice indeed!
