The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cesna changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Petkele looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cesna tries to advance to mount but Petkele denies him.

Cesna tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Cesna decides to stand up, so the ref orders Petkele to his feet.
A slow jab from Petkele misses its intended target.
Cesna shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cesna takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Vadim Cesna has been cut.
Cesna tries to clinch but Petkele moves out of range.
Petkele tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Petkele throws a hook but Cesna blocks it.
Petkele throws a hook to the side of Cesna's head but Cesna sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Petkele rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cesna moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd cheers as Petkele lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cesna doesn't seem phased though.
Petkele ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cesna moves away.
Cesna defending well as Petkele loads up on a big left hand.

Petkele is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cesna.

Cesna bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Petkele is not content to let Cesna control the position.

Cesna is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Petkele is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Petkele is trying to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cesna tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cesna is breathing heavily.
Cesna tries to move to mount but Petkele blocks the move with his legs.
Cesna trying to control the action but Petkele is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Petkele drops Cesna with a right and a left! Petkele comes rushing in but Cesna regains his composure and manages to keep Petkele in guard.

Cesna is rocked!

Petkele sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cesna's guard.
Petkele takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Petkele tries to pass to full mount but Cesna defends it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cesna wants to improve his position but Petkele is controlling well.
Petkele frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Cesna is looking to improve his position but Petkele isn't that keen on the idea.
Petkele fails to take his opponent's back.
Petkele controlling the pace for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Petkele is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Cesna is in real trouble.

Cesna wants to stand and escape but instead Petkele has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Cesna is looking for a triangle but Petkele pushes his legs off easily.

Petkele has hold of Cesna's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Cesna seems comfortable defending it but Petkele has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Cesna is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Cesna is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Petkele couldn't care less - he's delighted!
