The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Taylor.
Schwager misses with a leg kick.

Taylor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Schwager was covering up waiting for the punch and Taylor finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Schwager has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Schwager is looking to stand up but Taylor isn't so interested in that idea.

Taylor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schwager looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Taylor has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Schwager avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Schwager wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Taylor has him pressed against the cage.

Taylor drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Schwager gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Taylor throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Schwager tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Taylor is in Schwager's guard.

Schwager is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Taylor presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Schwager wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Taylor is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Schwager is defending well.

Taylor tightens his grip and picks Schwager up, before dumping him to the ground. Schwager manages to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Schwager manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Taylor goes for a takedown attempt but Schwager pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
