Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jef Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Pashik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drew Pashik is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jef Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Drew Pashik!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pashik fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pashik misses with a double jab

and Li holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Li manages to pull guard.
Pashik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Li is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Li looking for a sweep. Not yet Li, not yet.
Li is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Li bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pashik's guard.
Li with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pashik wants to stand but Li is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Li is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jef Li.

Pashik gets tackled into the cage by Li. Li maintains the clinch.

Li breaks the clinch.
Pashik misses with the combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Li shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Li controlling the pace.
Li thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Li is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We're going to have a standup here because Jef Li wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Li ducks under a wild hook from Pashik.
Li lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Drew Pashik has been cut.
Pashik moves in looking to clinch but Li pushes him off.
A chopping leg kick lands by Li.

Li decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Pashik wants to control but Li is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Li is working for a submission of some sort.

Li stands up out of the half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Li breaks from the clinch.
Pashik avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Li shoots in for a takedown but Pashik shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Drew Pashik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pashik thows a leg kick but Li checks it
and Li counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Li showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pashik.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jef Li dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Drew Pashik's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pashik looks to throw the jab but Li is out of range.
Pashik has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Li.
Li throws a right and a left that Pashik avoids nicely.
Li is looking to clinch.

Li gets a clinch.

Li pulls guard.
Pashik is fighting to break Li's control of his arms but Li is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Pashik wanted to stand there but Li had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Li is on top in guard.
Li keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pashik's head.

Li drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Li jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Li stands and throws Pashik's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Li moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pashik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Li decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pashik to his feet.

Li dives in and scores a takedown into Pashik's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Li stands up from Pashik's guard - Li perhaps looking for a knockout.
A jab from Pashik misses.
Jef Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Pashik misses its intended target.

Li takes the fight into the clinch.
Pashik working hard to break the clinch.
Pashik is trying to break the clinch but Li has him pressed against the cage.
Li lands a good knee to the midsection. Pashik won't want to take too many of those.
Li lands a shoulder strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Li ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Li no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Pashik preventing the sweep.
Li is pulling down on Pashik's head. It's preventing any offense from Pashik, at least for the moment.
Pashik tries to free his leg and advance position but Li is retaining full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jef Li.
Li throws a nice inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jef Li dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Drew Pashik's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Pashik slaps away a takedown attempt from Li, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Li scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Li is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pashik can do to turn this around?

Li gets a clinch.
Pashik wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Li.

Li pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Li misses with a series of wild punches.
Pashik misses with a low kick.
Li stalks Pashik and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pashik's face. Pashik staggers backwards, shaken.
Pashik throws a series of punches but Li avoids them all with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Li looks to land a combination. Pashik sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A jab from Pashik misses.
Jef Li is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Li closes the distance and clinches.
Li is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Li blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Li manages to break the clinch.
Pashik throws a combination that misses

and Li counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pashik's guard now.
Li wants to stand but Pashik has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Li drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Li as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Pashik screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Li! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Jef Li!
