The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susanoo throws a leg kick but Apostol sees it coming and moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nice body punch from Apostol - that landed with a thud.

Susanoo tries to stall but Apostol uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

I was talking to Susanoo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Apostol lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Susanoo tries to work over Apostol's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Apostol gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Apostol has Susanoo pushed against the cage.
Apostol creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Susanoo's defenses.

Apostol is pressed up against the cage. Susanoo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Apostol down to the mat. Apostol avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Susanoo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Apostol's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Susanoo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Susanoo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Apostol can't keep his opponent in guard - Susanoo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Susanoo maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Apostol could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Susanoo has cracked it and Apostol is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Susanoo!
