Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Masters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Masters as he checks the leg kick.
Masters closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Masters pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Masters circles away.
Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Masters counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Jackson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Masters breaks from the clinch.

Masters gets the takedown into side control.
Jackson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Masters doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson.
Jackson is trying to control the action in half guard but Masters is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Masters is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Masters keeps working.
Masters tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Masters slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Jackson pushes down on Masters's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Jackson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Masters is not content to let Jackson control the position.
Jackson is taking a breather. Masters says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jackson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Jackson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Masters is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Marcus Jackson!
