Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abaka Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Okin Slavas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slavas has chosen WolfMother as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Khan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Slavas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

It looks like Okin Slavas has been cut.
I was talking to Khan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Still in the clinch, Khan scores with a nice short uppercut.
Slavas has Khan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Khan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Slavas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slavas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Khan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Slavas, into his guard.

Slavas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Khan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Slavas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Khan scrambles back to his feet.

Abaka Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Okin Slavas.
Slavas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Okin Slavas decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
