The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuhita ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Matsuhita throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Alvarez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Matsuhita is not content to let Alvarez control the position.

Pedro Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matsuhita lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Pedro Alvarez has been cut.
Alvarez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matsuhita's waist but Matsuhita gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvarez off to one side.

Matsuhita keeps the fight on the outside.
Matsuhita connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Alvarez out cold! This one is over in a flash!
