Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Boban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doian Shuden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boban comes to the cage accompanied by Ana Tijoux - 1977. Mirko Boban has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mirko Boban!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doian Shuden!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shuden tries for a takedown but Boban circles away easily
and Boban connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Boban fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shuden to the ground. Boban is now in Shuden's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Shuden working for a triangle but Boban defends it easily.
Boban with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Boban got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shuden has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boban has managed to get both his arms back between Shuden's legs - danger averted.
Shuden isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Boban stacks Shuden on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Boban!
We've been hearing that Boban has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Shuden tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Boban wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shuden manages to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boban perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boban is nestled in close to Shuden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Shuden looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Boban is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Shuden manages to get to full guard.
Boban stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Shuden misses with a takedown
and Boban counters with a left to the body.
Boban wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Boban lands with a nice combination. Shuden backs away looking to recover.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shuden misses with a takedown attempt
letting Boban counter with a right hand.
Mirko Boban has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doian Shuden.
Shuden looks winded!
Boban moves into the clinch.
Boban gets control of Shuden's arms and successfully pulls guard. Boban will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shuden stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Boban has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Shuden manages to get his head free but now Boban has transitioned to an armbar! Shuden grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Boban! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mirko Boban!
