Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jude Mcneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elijah Wooten!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wooten throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mcneil counters with a one-two to the body.
Wooten is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
No joy there for Wooten, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wooten lands a two punch combo.
Mcneil will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mcneil changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wooten tries to avoid it but Mcneil manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wooten to the ground. Wooten escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mcneil closes the distance and pushes Wooten back into the cage.
Mcneil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooten throws a lazy head kick
and Mcneil holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mcneil is trying to pull guard but Wooten turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jude Mcneil. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooten escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooten looks to land a body kick but Mcneil moved away.
Mcneil blocks a head kick by Wooten.
Mcneil dodges the punch combination from Wooten.
Mcneil shoots in and drives through. Wooten sprawls well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wooten scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mcneil is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wooten lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mcneil at a distance.
Oh Mcneil is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooten misses with a double jab
and Mcneil counters with a slapping leg kick.
Mcneil showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wooten.
Wooten looks winded!
Wooten throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mcneil counters with a one-two to the body.
Wooten comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wooten connects with a combination that backs up Mcneil into the cage. Wooten lands a flurry of punches that gets past Mcneil's guard. Mcneil is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Wooten bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elijah Wooten!
Post fight, Elijah Wooten stared into the camera and said 'Who's next?'.
