Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Svein Hammerseth!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coffey tries to clinch up.
Coffey wants to clinch but Hammerseth slips to the side
and Hammerseth makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Hammerseth feints and as Coffey raises his hands in defense, Hammerseth changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Coffey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hammerseth is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hammerseth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hammerseth stands and steps away. Coffey gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Coffey looks to clinch
and Hammerseth counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hammerseth misses with a jab, cross combination.
Coffey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hammerseth fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hammerseth clinches up with Coffey and pushes him back against the cage.
Hammerseth prevents a body shot from Coffey.
Hammerseth tries to break free but Coffey pushes him back against the cage.
Coffey is trying to drag Hammerseth to the mat but Hammerseth just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hammerseth is looking to break free of the clinch but Coffey has double underhooks.
Hammerseth is trying to break the clinch but Coffey has him pressed against the cage.

Coffey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hammerseth is looking to clinch.
Hammerseth throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jere Coffey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Some wild striking there from Hammerseth.
Hammerseth throws a series of punches but Coffey avoids them all with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammerseth keeps the fight on the outside.
Coffey fails with an attempt to clinch.

Coffey tries to sprawl but Hammerseth drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hammerseth is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Coffey manages to get to full guard.

Hammerseth decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hammerseth moves into range and clinches up with Coffey.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammerseth prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hammerseth wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Coffey has him pressed against the cage.
Coffey is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Hammerseth tries to circle away but Coffey has him pinned against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Hammerseth's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hammerseth lands a body punch.
Hammerseth wants to break free but Coffey has control.
Coffey prevents Hammerseth from breaking the clinch.
Coffey has Hammerseth pressed against the cage, preventing Hammerseth from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Coffey breaks the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Hammerseth. Those never looked like landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Coffey tries to clinch but Hammerseth moves away
and Hammerseth counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Coffey looks to clinch
and Hammerseth counters with a straight right hand.

Hammerseth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hammerseth works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hammerseth thowing shots but they're missing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hammerseth throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Coffey because Hammerseth loaded up on that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Svein Hammerseth dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Coffey wants to clinch
and Hammerseth counters with a left and a right that stings Coffey.
Hammerseth looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hammerseth throws a series of punches but Coffey moves out of range.
Coffey tries to clinch up
and Hammerseth counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Coffey! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Svein Hammerseth!
