Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seijuro Akashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mang Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mang Thomas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akashi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Thomas to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Akashi controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself.

Akashi has managed to clinch.
Akashi jumps guard but Thomas stands there with Akashi around his waist. Akashi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Thomas is trying to push Akashi away but Akashi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Thomas tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Akashi breaks the clinch.
Thomas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thomas wants it to stay on the feet.

Akashi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Akashi shoots in looking for a takedown but Thomas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Akashi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seijuro Akashi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thomas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Akashi to the ground. Thomas is now in Akashi's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Akashi is on top in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thomas is looking to stand up but Akashi isn't so interested in that idea.

Akashi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Akashi wanted to stand there but Thomas had control of the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Seijuro Akashi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Akashi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Thomas wants to clinch up but Akashi keeps it at a distance.

Thomas goes for a double leg but Akashi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Akashi continues to drive forward.
Seijuro Akashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mang Thomas.
Thomas has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Akashi after a bit of a struggle.
Thomas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Akashi is trying to pull guard but Thomas has him pressed against the cage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mang Thomas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Akashi counters with a shoot takedown. Thomas fights it but they end up in guard.
Mang Thomas has got the better of the ground game so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Akashi looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Thomas is defending well. Akashi quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Thomas has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Akashi celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
