Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barney Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by On To The Next One. Burke is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Manish Boy. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 21 - 1, fighting out of London, Barney Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, James Burke!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burke lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Lee fails to land with a series of punches.
Burke connects with a body shot that sends Lee's belly button to the back.
Burke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lee.
Nice sprawl there from Lee as Burke shoots in.
Burke missing with a left hand there. Lee was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Burke catches Lee with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Burke lands the left hand.
Burke moves out of range as Lee strikes.
Burke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Burke.
Burke throws a looping overhand right but Lee ducks down to avoid it.
Nice shot by Lee.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lee throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lee checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Burke connects with a nice looking jab.

A slapping leg kick lands for Burke.
Burke shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lee throws a right and a left that Burke avoids nicely.
Burke misses with a straight right.
Burke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lee.
Burke throws a lazy body kick
and Lee counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like James Burke has been cut.
Burke dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Burke's head and hops out.
Burke connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Burke is looking to chop away at Lee's legs.
Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Burke. Burke gets slowly back to his feet.
Barney Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Burke.
A low kick from Burke is predictable there
letting Lee counter with a right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lee throws a jab when Burke was well out of range.
Barney Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Burke ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Burke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Burke.
Lee with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Burke to score with a decent uppercut.

Lee attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Lee scores with a jab. Burke acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Lee takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

and Burke counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Burke is pushing down on Lee's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lee is fighting to maintain full guard but Burke has managed to sneak the leg through.

Lee wants to improve his position but Burke is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee is working hard here to advance position.
Burke thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lee's head.
Burke is pressing down on Lee's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lee is holding on for now.

Burke is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee wants to control but Burke is having none of it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Burke throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lee walks into a left hand.
Burke just misses with a punch to the body.

Lee wants to stand but Burke is controlling the position.

Burke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Burke thows a huge punch but Lee dodges it nicely.

Burke is trying to control the action in half guard but Lee is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Burke is looking to pass Lee's guard but actually Lee recovers to full guard.

Burke stands and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Burke wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.

Burke is trying to get an arm triangle but Lee is defending well.
Lee is trying to control Burke's posture but Burke avoids it.
Burke lands a nice forearm strike.

Burke misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Burke throws an elbow but Lee slips to the side and avoids it well.
Burke tries to advance to mount but Lee instead regains half guard.
Burke is thwarting Lee's attempts to control the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Burke doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Lee walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Burke throws a quick inside leg kick.
Burke misses with an uppercut. Lee saw that one coming.
Burke connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lee looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Burke throws a lazy right hand but Lee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A chopping leg kick lands by Burke.

Lee drops his hands momentarily and Burke takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lee takes a jab right on the kisser.

Burke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard.
Lee looking to control but Burke passes into half guard.

Lee is defending against the submission attempts here by Burke.
Burke is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Burke not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Burke seems to be working for a kimura but Lee defends the submission attempt.
Burke is keen to just control but Lee is a slippery customer.
Lee wants to improve his position but Burke is controlling well.

Lee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burke!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burke sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

James Burke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Burke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
