The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Groot throws a head kick that misses.
De Groot fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mole has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Mole shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. De Groot manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mole's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Mole tries to free his leg and advance position but De Groot is retaining full guard.
De Groot can't keep his opponent in guard - Mole advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mole winds up and cracks De Groot with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mole is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but De Groot is surviving well by controlling Mole's body position as best he can.

Mole is landing with some decent strikes but De Groot is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

De Groot is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The referee warns De Groot that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
