The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyatt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Souza.
Wyatt stuffs the takedown.

Souza darts in looking for a takedown but Wyatt gets double underhooks and turns Souza into the cage.
Souza tries to land a knee to the head but Wyatt blocks with his arms.

Souza tries to break free but Wyatt pushes him back against the cage.
Souza is trying to break the clinch but Wyatt is controlling him.

Wyatt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wyatt throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Souza on the side of the head.
Souza has a takedown stuffed.

Souza takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Wyatt tries to kick Souza off but Souza keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Souza wants to stand up but Wyatt has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Wyatt circles away from the clinch attempt
and Wyatt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Wyatt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Souza doesn't seem bothered though.

Wyatt darts in and clinches Souza up against the cage.
Souza is looking to control Wyatt's arms but Wyatt gets an underhook and turns him. Now Souza has his back to the cage.
Souza is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wyatt to keep the fight standing.
Wyatt lands with a short shot to the head.

Wyatt goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Souza tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Souza ducks right into an uppercut from Wyatt.

Wyatt throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range.
Souza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wyatt defends well and Souza ends up having to push Wyatt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Wyatt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wyatt lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Remington Wyatt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Souza looks to score with a jab to the body but Wyatt is just out of range.
Wyatt feints a jab promting Souza to slip. Wyatt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Souza slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The fight stays on the outside here - Souza looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Souza shoots in for a takedown but Wyatt shows good takedown defense.
Souza fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Remington Wyatt dominated that round.

Wyatt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Souza is rocked!

Wyatt drops Souza with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Souza looks back up at him and smiles so Wyatt waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Souza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wyatt thuds a left hand into Souza's body.
Wyatt drops Souza with a straight right hand, right on the button! Wyatt follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

During a confident post fight interview, Remington Wyatt thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
