Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doian Shuden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Alkofer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doian Shuden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Alkofer!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Watson and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shuden misses with a takedown attempt
and Alkofer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Alkofer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alkofer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Shuden had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alkofer defends it easily.
Alkofer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Alkofer is in close to Shuden's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Alkofer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shuden has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alkofer has managed to get both his arms back between Shuden's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alkofer controls from within his opponent's guard.

Alkofer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Alkofer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Alkofer is staying tight to Shuden's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Shuden tries to buck Alkofer off but Alkofer is having none of it.
Alkofer tries to advance to mount but Shuden denies him.
Alkofer is putting a hurting on Shuden here, landing some big shots from side control.
Alkofer is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shuden's shoulder. That is not cool.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Alkofer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Shuden throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Alkofer is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shuden's shoulder. That is not cool.
Shuden misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Shuden is being controlled here.
Shuden tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alkofer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Alkofer works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Shuden is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Alkofer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Well, if Alkofer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Alkofer is looking for a kimura here.
Alkofer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shuden looking for submissions off his back.

Alkofer is looking for a kimura but Shuden is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alkofer to get the leverage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Alkofer is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Alkofer slips a nice elbow through Shuden's hands, connecting with Shuden's forehead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Alkofer dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

It looks like Doian Shuden has been cut.
Shuden doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alkofer counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doian Shuden. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shuden gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alkofer to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Oh Shuden is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Daniel Alkofer has got the better of the ground game so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alkofer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Shuden seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Shuden keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alkofer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Shuden looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Alkofer lands with some strikes.
Alkofer working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Alkofer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Alkofer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Shuden is surviving well by controlling Alkofer's body position as best he can.
Alkofer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alkofer loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Shuden scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Alkofer land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Alkofer stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Alkofer!
