Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makao Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant comes to the cage accompanied by Alice in Chains - Rooster. Matsumoto has chosen Sepultura - Territory as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

24 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Makao Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto connects with a nice looking jab.
Matsumoto lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Grant at a distance.
Grant rushes Matsumoto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Matsumoto pulls guard successfully.
Grant with a nice head shot there.

Matsumoto scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Matsumoto thows a body shot but no joy.
Grant rushes Matsumoto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Matsumoto manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Grant manages to get himself to full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Matsumoto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Grant's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The referee warns Grant that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Grant avoids a series of strikes thrown by Matsumoto.
Grant is wriggling around trying to escape.
Grant tries to hold on but Matsumoto postures up.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Matsumoto cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Matsumoto won't let Grant get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Grant manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
Matsumoto tries to pass the half guard into mount. Grant knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Makao Matsumoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Grant takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Matsumoto throws some wild stikes that Grant manages to avoid easily.

Grant is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Matsumoto lands a big shot there that rocks Grant but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Makao Matsumoto has got the better of the ground game so far.
Matsumoto postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Grant bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Matsumoto and the fight is over!
