Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chance Watkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Hampton!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hampton tries to clinch up.
Watkins blocks a head kick by Hampton.
Hampton tries to clinch but Watkins moves away

and Watkins counters with a single leg into guard. Hampton didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Watkins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Watkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sloppy strikes from Hampton. Those never looked like landing.
Hampton is looking to clinch but Watkins is avoiding it.

Watkins makes his way to full guard, as Hampton worked for a kimura.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Watkins is pulling down on Hampton's head to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chris Hampton was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Watkins counters by moving into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hampton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Watkins swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Watkins tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Watkins jumps guard but Hampton turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hampton dives in for a single leg takedown but Watkins sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chance Watkins will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Watkins tries to score a body lock takedown but Hampton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hampton is trying to maintain a safe position but Watkins gets an underhook and turns Hampton into the cage.

Watkins rushes Hampton and presses him up against the cage.
Hampton pushes Watkins back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Watkins decides to pull guard.
Hampton throws a big elbow that misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Let's hope that Hampton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Hampton wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hampton lands with a nice combination. Watkins backs away looking to recover.

Watkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hampton is fending him off so far but Watkins persists. Nope, Hampton circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Watkins manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hampton keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Hampton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Watkins is looking to escape.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Watkins bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Chris Hampton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hampton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
