And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Takeshi Fujiwara!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Della Appa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Della Appa shoots in but Fujiwara avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Della Appa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fujiwara was covering up waiting for the punch and Della Appa finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fujiwara wants to stand up but Della Appa is controlling him.
Fujiwara tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Della Appa has gone for a leg lock! Fujiwara slips out almost immediately though and dives into Della Appa's guard.

Fujiwara closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Della Appa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fujiwara is fending him off so far but Della Appa persists. Nope, Fujiwara circles away and we're back to standing.
Della Appa shoots for a double leg takedown but Fujiwara sprawls well. He's pushed Della Appa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fujiwara scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Fujiwara fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Della Appa shoots in for a takedown but Fujiwara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Della Appa dives in for a single leg takedown but Fujiwara sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Della Appa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fujiwara's guard.
Della Appa's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fujiwara has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Della Appa off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Della Appa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Fujiwara tests Della Appa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Fujiwara dips to his left and cracks Della Appa with an uppercut!

Nice sprawl there from Fujiwara as Della Appa shoots in.
Takeshi Fujiwara seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Della Appa goes for a double leg but Fujiwara avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fujiwara continues to drive forward.

Fujiwara lands a hook that snaps the head of Della Appa backwards.

Fujiwara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fujiwara bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Della Appa is defended easily by Fujiwara.

Fujiwara throws a right and a left that Della Appa avoids nicely.
Fujiwara uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Della Appa has time to react.
Fujiwara lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Antonio Della Appa has been cut.
Della Appa takes a jab right on the kisser.
Fujiwara stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Della Appa shoots in for a takedown but Fujiwara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Fujiwara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Della Appa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fujiwara lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Della Appa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fujiwara as he avoids it easily.
Fujiwara lands with a big left! Della Appa is wobbled badly! Fujiwara comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Della Appa to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Takeshi Fujiwara!
Takeshi Fujiwara was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
