Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobero Shimasaki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ice Man!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man misses with a hook.
Man has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Shimasaki is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Some bone on bone action there as Man checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Shimasaki keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Man.
Shimasaki is looking to clinch but Man is avoiding it.
Shimasaki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Man.

Shimasaki closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Shimasaki is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Man pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Shimasaki breaks the clinch.

Shimasaki takes the fight into the clinch.

Shimasaki manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Shimasaki trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Man throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shimasaki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Man postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Man is looking to work some ground and pound but Shimasaki has wrist control.
Man won't allow Shimasaki to get back to his feet.
Man scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Man stands up over Shimasaki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shimasaki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Man keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shimasaki's head.

Shimasaki has his feet on Man's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Man on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shimasaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Shimasaki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Shimasaki wants to slow Man down by chopping away at his legs.
Shimasaki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Man throws the left hand but Shimasaki avoids the punch easily.
Man waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shimasaki.
Shimasaki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Man sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Man misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shimasaki.
Man throws out a loose jab but Shimasaki uses good head movement to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shimasaki on the wrong end of a nice jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Shimasaki misses the target.
Man misses with an uppercut. Shimasaki saw that one coming.
Man lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Man staying out of range there.
Shimasaki tries to clinch there but Man circles away.
Man misses with a two punch combination.
Shimasaki misses with a straight right.
Shimasaki scores with a head kick. Man tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Man scores with a decent looking hook.


Shimasaki is rocked!
Man dances in with a quick combination. Shimasaki is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Man snaps Shimasaki's head back. Shimasaki stumbles backwards against the cage. Man steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Shimasaki's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Shimasaki just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ice Man! Ice Man retains his light heavyweight title!
Ice Man decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
Nobero Shimasaki spoke after the fight, saying 'Team Goroshi - Kore Fight Nutrition - Dudes Gym'.
