PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod The Bod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucky Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucky Kid acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rod The Bod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucky Kid!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Bod shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kid pinned against the cage. Kid gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kid feints and as The Bod raises his hands in defense, Kid changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The Bod had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kid is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. The Bod Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kid's back instead.
The Bod tries to get the hooks in deep but Kid pushed the leg off.
The Bod gets his hands free as Kid looks to control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kid turns into The Bod and is now in his guard.
Kid postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kid controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The Bod escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The Bod keeping full guard, as Kid tries to pass.
Kidis looking to pass into half guard but The Bod pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now The Bod is in guard.

The Bod drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Bod jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Bod wants to pass the guard but Kid is keeping the position.
The Bod trying to control the position from guard on top but Kid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The Bod postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kid is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Bod, into his guard.
Kid is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kid wants to control from the top but The Bod keeps moving.
The Bod can't keep his opponent in guard - Kid advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The Bod is looking for a sweep. Kid is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kid perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The Bod is pressing down on Kid's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kid should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The Bod isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kid stacks The Bod on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kid!
The Bod is breathing heavily.
Kid content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Kid tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kid has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Bod is looking to reverse the position.

Kid in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... The Bod is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
