Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tobias Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Madison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tobias Hendricks!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Madison gets caught flat footed, as Hendricks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Madison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hendricks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hendricks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hendricks is working Madison over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Madison manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Madison wants to finish this one by submission but Hendricks is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Madison.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Madison is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hendricks has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hendricks is looking to improve his position but Madison isn't that keen on the idea.

Madison looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Hendricks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Madison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Madison is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hendricks to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hendricks shrugs it off.
Hendricks can't escape the position.

Hendricks keeps trying to improve his position.

Hendricks defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Madison.

Madison working for a submission but Hendricks is keeping him at bay.
Hendricks prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Hendricks sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Hendricks holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Hendricks looking for submissions off his back.
Hendricks is looking for a sweep. Madison is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Madison is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hendricks defends it well.
Hendricks regains full guard. Nicely done.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hendricks is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Madison looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Madison slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Madison is trying to get an arm triangle but Hendricks is defending well.

Hendricks is looking to regain half guard here but Madison keeps moving and retains side control.
Hendricks wants to control but Madison postures up.

Madison wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hendricks, who protects the arm well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hendricks can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hendricks can't do much from the bottom here.

Madison has an Americana. Hendricks didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Madison is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Madison hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
