The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvez thows a left - swing and a miss!
A jab-cross combination lands for Alvez and sends Patterson crashing to the mat! Alvez follows him down to the mat - Patterson regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Patterson is rocked!
It looks like Fred Patterson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvez controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, Patterson is out! Alvez gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!
