The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caine shoots and misses

and Kalnoky moves into the clinch.
Caine gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kalnoky.

Kalnoky gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kalnoky is trying to work for a kimura but Caine is defending well.
Caine is trying to get back to full guard.
Kalnoky wants to advance to full mount but Caine doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Kalnoky passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kalnoky creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Caine sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Caine is not content to let Kalnoky control the position.

Kalnoky lands an elbow.
Caine might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kalnoky tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
My spies in Franklin D. Bluth Memorial Supergym inform me that Kalnoky has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Caine gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Kalnoky throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Caine tries to roll over but Kalnoky keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kalnoky is keen to just control but Caine is a slippery customer.

Kalnoky looking to sit in guard and control but Caine gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Caine has gone for a leg lock! Kalnoky slips out almost immediately though and dives into Caine's guard.

Kalnoky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Caine swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kalnoky wants to control from the top but Caine keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kalnoky working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Caine's head.

Kalnoky looking to improve position, pressing down on Caine's thigh with his hand. Caine seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Kalnoky paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Kalnoky's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Caine picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
