The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rapp scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Forbes wants to control but Rapp postures up.

Rapp is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Forbes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Forbes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rapp manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Forbes on his heels. He'll look to pass Forbes's guard now, I'm sure.
Forbes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Well, if Forbes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Forbes is stalling here. Rapp is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Forbes seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rapp has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Forbes lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Forbes.

Forbes tries to get the hooks in deep but Rapp pushed the leg off.
Rapp is trying to get back to his feet but Forbes has full control of the position and if anything, Rapp has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Rapp is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Rapp swings around for an armbar but Forbes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rapp's guard.
Rapp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Forbes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Forbes trying to control the position from guard on top but Rapp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Forbes scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Forbes trying to control but Rapp is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rapp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Forbes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Forbes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Forbes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rapp has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Forbes has managed to get both his arms back between Rapp's legs - danger averted.

Forbes stays in close to Rapp's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hunter Forbes.

Rapp shoots in and gets a takedown into Forbes's guard.

Rapp is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Forbes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Forbes has escaped and now he's on top!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Forbes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Forbes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Forbes wants to control from the top but Rapp keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hunter Forbes just wasn't active enough.

Rapp dives in and scores a takedown into Forbes's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hunter Forbes.
I think Forbes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
