And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jet Chan!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan lands with a hook. Alves tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Chan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Chan closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. Chan pushes Alves against the ropes but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Alves clinches up with Chan and pushes him back against the ropes.

Chan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alves is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chan.
Alves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Alves falls off balance throwing a combination

and Chan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alves's guard now.
Alves wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.
Alves pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chan is keeping the position for now.
Alves postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Alves tries to free his leg and advance position but Chan is retaining full guard.

Alves wants to control from the top but Chan keeps moving.
Alves passes Chan's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Alves is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are battling for position here. Chan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've been hearing that Alves has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Chan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alves!

Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Alves to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Chan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Alves pulls down on the head and he's put Chan to sleep! This one is all over!
