Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kris Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mariano Trias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trias has chosen misteryo by slapshock as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kris Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mariano Trias!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Trias to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Trias is looking to stand up but Gunn won't let him.
Trias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gunn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Trias stops Gunn from standing up.
Gunn trying to control the position.
Gunn has a closed guard, preventing Trias from standing up.
Gunn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gunn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gunn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kris Gunn has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Trias throws a wild body kick that Gunn sees coming a mile off.
Trias throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Trias shoots in and gets a takedown into Gunn's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trias wants to pass the guard but Gunn is keeping the position.
Gunn pulls Trias in close to his closed guard and prevents Trias from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gunn controls Trias momentarily but Trias frees himself.
Trias throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Trias postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Trias wants to stand but Gunn is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gunn pulls Trias in close to his closed guard and prevents Trias from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kris Gunn.

Trias looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Gunn trying to keep a closed guard but Trias is proving a slippery customer.
Gunn has his hands on Trias's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trias throwing strikes from guard but Gunn blocks nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trias wants to stand but Gunn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gunn looking for a sweep. Not yet Gunn, not yet.

Trias stands up from Gunn's guard - Trias perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Trias has closed the distance and engaged Gunn in a clinch.

Gunn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gunn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gunn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trias manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Trias throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Trias wants to sweep here but Gunn controlling him for the moment.
Trias looks winded!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gunn is looking to work some ground and pound but Trias has wrist control.
Trias keeping moving, preventing Gunn from controlling successfully.
Trias throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Gunn drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gunn as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Trias screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gunn! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Kris Gunn!
During a confident post fight interview, Kris Gunn thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
