Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Rosario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joey Rosario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gustavo Lima!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lima drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lima postures up.
Rosario will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rosario looking for a sweep. Not yet Rosario, not yet.
Rosario working a defensive guard but Lima manages to pass into side control anyway.
Rosario stops Lima from passing to mount.
Lima should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Rosario tries to clinch up.

Rosario fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lima to the ground. Rosario is now in Lima's guard.
Rosario postures up in Lima's guard and throws a big left but Lima blocks it.

Rosario throws a big elbow that misses.
Rosario controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rosario has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Rosario has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We're going to have a standup here because Joey Rosario wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Rosario closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lima to the mat! Lima manages to get full guard.

Rosario is working Lima over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rosario controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rosario is in close to Lima's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Rosario not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joey Rosario.

Rosario tries to pull guard but Lima won't allow it.

Lima sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rosario is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rosario manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Lima closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lima lands in his opponent's guard.
Lima looking to sit in guard and control but Rosario gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rosario loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rosario seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rosario takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joey Rosario just wasn't active enough.
Lima misses with a wild combination.
Lima is breathing heavily.
Rosario tries to close the distance and clinch but Lima swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lima feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rosario postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lima looks a forlorn figure.

Rosario seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Lima is holding on tight.

That's time! Rosario's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lima wants to hold on but Rosario pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rosario is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Lima is in real trouble.
Rosario has good solid back control here.
Joey Rosario overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rosario throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Lima!

Well Rosario has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
