Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Laguera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ademir Azevado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laguera comes to the ring accompanied by Rev Theory - Hell Yeah. Ademir Azevado has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Alexei Laguera's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laguera scores with a three punch combo!
Azevado misses with a body kick.
Laguera looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Azevado will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Laguera scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Azevado ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Laguera moves away.
Laguera is looking to slow Azevado down with leg kicks.
Laguera moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Laguera looks for a takedown but Azevado sprawls well.
We've been told by Laguera's head coaches at Assassins Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Laguera jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Azevado blocks a head kick by Laguera.
Azevado lands a nice shot to the body.
Laguera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Laguera stuffs the takedown attempt from Azevado. Azevado gets slowly back to his feet.
Azevado attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Laguera tries a head kick but it misses.
Azevado moves out of range of the strikes.

A swing and a miss from Laguera.
Alexei Laguera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Azevado takes the fight into the clinch.
Laguera is trying to break free.
Azevado lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Laguera is trying to break the clinch but Azevado is controlling him.
Laguera is trying to drag Azevado to the mat but Azevado just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
A nice right hand lands inside from Azevado.

Azevado misses with a hook to the ribs.
Laguera wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Azevado has him pressed against the ropes.
Azevado throws a knee to the head but misses.

Laguera manages to break the clinch.

Azevado cracks Laguera with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Laguera looks to clinch

and Azevado decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Laguera's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Azevado wants to control from the top but Laguera keeps moving.

Azevado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Laguera wants to stand but Azevado is controlling the position.
Azevado sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Laguera's guard.

Laguera is trying to get back to full guard.

Azevado is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Laguera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Azevado.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Azevado is trying to control the action in half guard but Laguera is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Laguera is defending against the submission attempts here by Azevado.
Laguera is refusing to be controlled, as Azevado sits in half guard.

Azevado is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Laguera is just riding it out for now. Azevado eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Azevado seems to be working for a kimura but Laguera defends the submission attempt.

Azevado passes the guard and advances to mount!
Azevado fails to move to back control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Azevado content just to control the position here.

Azevado goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Laguera is on top in guard.
Azevado wants to sweep but no luck.

Azevado is looking to cinch up a triangle. Laguera throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Azevado's body to avoid the submission. Azevado has instead reached around Laguera's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Azevado arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ademir Azevado!
A very excited looking Ademir Azevado made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
