Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pound Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee comes to the cage accompanied by Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pound Mcgee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gene Anderson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcgee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Mcgee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Anderson for as long as he can get away with.
Mcgee thows a huge punch but Anderson dodges it nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pound Mcgee.
Anderson dives in and grabs Mcgee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcgee pushes down on Anderson's head and hops out.

Mcgee drives through and clinches with Anderson against the cage.

Mcgee looks to land a combination but Anderson avoids it well.

Mcgee shoots in and gets a takedown into Anderson's guard.
Anderson wants to sweep here but Mcgee controlling him for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mcgee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Anderson can't keep his opponent in guard - Mcgee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mcgee is taking a breather. Anderson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Pound Mcgee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Mcgee leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Anderson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Mcgee throws a right and a left that Anderson avoids nicely.
Mcgee tries to bum rush Anderson with a series of wild strikes but Anderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

It looks like Gene Anderson has been cut.
Anderson trying to control the position but instead, Mcgee has worked for underhooks and has pushed Anderson into the cage.
Anderson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mcgee smiles and moves away.
Pound Mcgee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gene Anderson.

Mcgee moves into range and clinches up with Anderson.
Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Mcgee has him pressed against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Anderson has Mcgee pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mcgee manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mcgee keeps control of Anderson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mcgee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anderson.
Horrible takedown by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Mcgee which made him look bad.

and Mcgee counters with a slapping leg kick.
Pound Mcgee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mcgee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcgee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mcgee scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mcgee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Anderson. That did some damage!
Mcgee lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mcgee.
Anderson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mcgee defends well and Anderson ends up having to push Mcgee into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Anderson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Mcgee is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Anderson.

Mcgee looks up at the clock and then as Anderson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mcgee smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Mcgee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Anderson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Anderson lands in his opponent's guard.
Anderson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcgee has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Anderson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Anderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
