Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Weidman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Ringo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ringo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thunderstruck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Weidman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ringo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Weidman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ringo pinned against the cage. Ringo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ringo tries to clinch up.
Weidman shoots in looking for a takedown but Ringo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Weidman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Weidman is breathing heavily.
No luck for Weidman with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Weidman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Weidman shoots in for a takedown but Ringo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Weidman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ringo defends it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Weidman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ringo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ringo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ringo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ringo closes the distance and pushes Weidman back into the cage.

Ringo has Weidman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ringo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Weidman tumbling to the mat - Ringo dives into Weidman's guard.
Ringo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Weidman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ringo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ringo wants to pass the guard but Weidman is keeping the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ringo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Weidman is looking to cinch up a triangle. Ringo throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Weidman's body to avoid the submission. Weidman has instead reached around Ringo's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Weidman arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

In defeat, Jon Ringo stepped up to the mic, saying 'Next time it'll go my way.'.
