The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tapio scores with a shot to the body.
Douglas misses with a looping right.
Douglas moves out of range of the strikes.
Tapio throws the left hand but Douglas avoids the punch easily.
Tapio misses with a looping left.
Tapio just misses with a punch to the body.
Karrrrri Tapio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douglas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tapio.
Tapio scores with a hook to the body. Douglas takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tapio throws a shot to the body.
A punch lands to the side of Douglas 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Tapio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Douglas manages to avoid it.

Douglas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Tim Douglas has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Douglas checks a low kick from Tapio.

Douglas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Tapio thows a body shot but no joy.
Tapio uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Douglas has time to react.
Tapio misses with an uppercut

and Douglas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tapio's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Douglas wants to control from the top but Tapio keeps moving.
Douglas advances to half guard.
Tapio desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Tapio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tapio tries to get out of the position.

Douglas uses his free foot to push down on Tapio's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tapio.
Tapio tries to hold on but Douglas postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Douglas tries to control but Tapio wriggling away.
Tapio is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Douglas throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Tapio has his hands clasped together but Douglas breaks the hold and Tapio is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Douglas!
